Our client, an online social network provider, needed a quick revamp of its technological platform, in order to focus more on its business goals and further improve its services. Our team had to revamp an already partially developed solution, that had to be further improved to match the quality standards and performance our client required. We came up with ‘best-of-breed’ technology solutions that now put Vator.TV on the track for becoming an industry benchmark for online business networks.
The Client
Vator.TV is a social network for technology startup companies that gives entrepreneurs a platform to connect with Investors, Acquirers and Media. Our client’s solution gives Investors useful tools to keep track of companies and industries that interest them, and provides a revolutionary interaction platform to discover the best investment opportunities in technology.
The Idea
Vator.TV had previously had a partially developed online platform that enabled users to post rich-media profiles and video pitches in order to be spotted by potential investors.
Our client asked the team from Outsourcing Factory to take-over the development of the application behind Vator.TV. It also needed a developer that could provide the necessary updates to let Vator.TV further develop the project and come up with new improvements regarding its services.

The Challenge
We took over a project that was already partially developed. Unlike the ones that we build from scratch, our team had first to remove malfunctions of the old code. Therefore, our first tasks in the project included the code clean up and improvements.
We managed to gain our clients trust in short time due to our well-established collaboration process, and communication methods. We set up weekly meetings with the managers, and even more often with the development team in order to closely follow the tasks’ progress.
The Solution
Outsourcing Factory put together an extensive team of developers and QA testers, both from our development offices in Romania and Ukraine. Our first task was to clearly identify our client’s needs and status of development.
We gave Vator.TV an initial ramp-up through and updated the platform to the Ruby on Rails 2.0 version, from a previous version. This enabled us to later come up with further developments, due to a more extensive and richer in functionalities framework.
We then managed to bring significant improvements to the whole code and also update the index engine.
Moreover, we proposed a redesign of the Vator.TVwebsite. We have approached this task modularly, starting with the home page and the Newsroom section that Vator.TV promotes as “the trustworthy beacon to the world on the technology startup spirit and the investing which turns these dreams into reality”.

The Results

Due to our team successfully taking over the development process, our client is currently more focused in achieving its business goals and will soon come up with a new approach for its services as well as new solutions that will increase its revenues.
